Spodumene (LiAl(SiO3)2)

A source of lithia, which is a flux, that helps develop copper blue tone glaze. Can replace feldspar and also reduces vitrification temperature and shrinkage rate in glazes and clays. Chemical grade from Australia; lithium carbonate can often be replaced with spodumene provided the original lithium carbonate content is not too high.
